Debbie is an economic justice activist who believes passionately that economic reform is a cornerstone of racial justice and social progress. Debbie serves as the California Public Banking Alliance’s Treasurer and heads the CPBA Funding Committee. She is the chair of the Board of Directors of Friends of the Public Bank East Bay. Debbie has been active in the Occupy Oakland Foreclosure Defense Group and Strike Debt Bay Area. Between 1972 and 2011, most of her social activism was concentrated on body image and gender issues.
